Operation of parquet

One of the main conditions in operation of varnished parquet is the fact that the owner of the floor can start operating it not later than in 24 hours after making the last layer of varnish.

The specialists think that after a day when all parquetry is finished one can walk on it, wearing the house slippers on soft bottom or best of all – in socks or special “parquet” slippers. The varnish coating will get the final durability after 14 days, and only after expiration of this time you can bring the furniture into these premises.

It is very desirable that the furniture feet will be equipped with edge moulding from mat, felt or other soft material of natural origin. It is not recommended to use the plastics for this purpose. They can react with the varnish. The furniture on rollers anticipates the usage of special polymer rugs. One more important detail: until the varnish completely becomes firm, it is forbidden to cover the parquet.

One from the compulsory conditions in the operation of varnished parquet floor is the special dirt-excluding coating to clean the shoes from mud, available in front of the entry to the premises. In ideal case it will be the rugs of two types – hard nylon ones to collect hard abrasive-carrying fractions, which persistently tend to scratch the upper layer of the varnish, and cotton ones that absorb the water and chemical reagents, being contained in it, which can react with substances, being contained in the varnish.

Of course it does not mean that the penetration of mud or water will immediately spoil the parquet – it means the long lasting effect for some years, so it is not reasonable just to use the rubber rug.
