The way you lay the parquet …

The parquet laying is made on concrete blinding coat or on the old, so called “rough” floor. The water putty is put to the true surface, over which the moisture-proof plywood is fastened, using the glue and screws. After that the parquet laying starts.

Using the pneumatic gun, which “shoots” with nails, each plank is fixed. In a week after parquet laying one starts its external finishing – scraping, polishing, puttying and coating with varnish. The purpose of scraping is to remove all roughness, unevenness, scratches, arisen by parquet laying. This process is carried out manually or using the special machine. Then the parquet is polished, using floor grinders for three-four times. The dust, remained after polishing, is removed by the vacuum cleaner. It there are any gaps between planks and boards, they should be stopped up with putty. Of course the color of putty is chosen due to the color of wood. Before laying the varnish the parquet shall be primed in order to saturate the pores of wood with special solution in order to reduce the consumption of varnish. Sometimes the parquet is polished with putty. But as a rule it is just coated with varnish in 3-5 layers with the break for a day.

The plinth is installed when the process for parquet laying and finishing is completed. Usually it is fastened to the wall, using the nails and screws, and is adjoined closely to the floor. Here it is important not to go too far: as the parquet is inclined to extend and to shrink with changes in temperature and moisture, the plinth, being too tightly nailed, may damage it. As designers think, the plinth shall not correspond to the parquet due to the color. It can be selected due to the tone with furniture, wallpapers or curtains.
